How to Pan Audio
One of the first questions I had when I started using Edius was, "How do I duplicate the audio from one channel to the other channel. Premier Pro had an audio filter that you could drop on that would let you "Fill Left" or "Fill Right". How do you do the equivalent in Edius? Lets say that you are working on a project where all of your interviews were recorded on one channel of audio while the other channel was picking up ambient audio from the camera mic (or no audio at all). You want to kill the ambient audio and duplicate the audio from your interview channel over to the channel that was picking up ambient audio. How do you do it in Edius?
From your Effect Palette, locate Audio filters and "Panpot & Balance". Drag the Panpot filter to the audio clip that you want to change.

With the clip selected on the timeline, double click on the filter that shows up in the "Information Palette" to open the Panpot tool.

Make your adjustments. Depending on what channel your audio is currently on, set that to center. (If your audio is showing up in the upper level of the audio track it is the Left Channel, if on the bottom it is the right channel) Add some dB gain to the channel that you want to feature - say 4 db up. On the channel that you want to eliminate, drag the volume slider down as far as you can.

When you are happy with your settings, close panpot box with OK
Right click on filter in Information palette and select "Save current user preset"

Note that a new "Panpot and Balance" preset shows up in the effects palette. Rename it to what you like. (ie Pan Down.)
While you are at it, you might want to go ahead and also make a preset for the right audio channel so that you have two presets, ready in your effects palette, to pan left or right, (or as I like to call it, "pan up" or "pan down") whenever you need it.
Now, once you have an effect defined to perform the action that you need, remember that you can always effect more than one clip at a time. Rather than drop your panpot effect on your clips one by one, select all of the clips that you want to effect with your new preset, (with a lasso or Ctrl Click) and drop the filter on any one of the selected clips. The new customized panpot filter that you have made will now be on all of the clips that were selected.
