How do I create a still image from a frame of one of my video clips

How do I create a still image from a frame of one of my video clips (or how do I export a still frame)?

With the video that you want to capture a still frame from, on your timeline, position your curser on your clips so that the exact frame that you want is displayed in the record monitor. Use the keyboard shortcut, Control/T, and Edius will capture a still frame and place it in your bin. If you want to discover the location the still frame has been saved to on your computer, right click on the still shot picon in your bin and choose properties. Select the "File Info" tab from the "clip properties" pop up window. If you are more of a point and click person (visual) rather than a keyboard shortcut person, you may want to add a icon to your timeline icon menu for this function, as it is probably something that you will use a lot.

Go to Settings/Application Settings. Once the pop up box appears, Select Application Settings/Customize/Button. Change the internal pull down menu to "timeline" and add the button that looks like a camera. With the Button selected, click the right arrow button and the camera icon will show up in the "Current buttons" column.

If you find that the still image that you create does not look the best, try adjusting your settings for still frames. Go to Settings/Plug-in Settings/ Still Image

From the drop down menu try setting your file type to Tiff and select the box that says Odd Field. This will eliminate the "uglies" that an interlaced image can sometimes give.
